During the exhibition, English will unveil a new Grin mural on the side of the building.Public Pool is an experimental gallery space made possible by Ethan Cohen Projects and Founders Lab NYC.This exhibition will be open for four weekends only. The opening reception will take place Saturday, September 16th, from 4 – 8 pm. Regular hours for all other Saturdays and Sundays will be 1 – 7 pm.

Ron English Explains:

I redesigned 200 album covers as if I had gotten the gig. And basically this show demonstrates why I’ve never got to do an album cover in my whole life. Which is a lie, but I thought that it was funny!

I reinterpreted Bands that existed, never existed, and should have existed.  It’s just my imagination gone wild But you know, I always love a project where it’s just  endless possibilities. You can’t do enough, right? There’s always a record cover you can reimagine. Because of this fact the show gets funnier the longer you stay and discover new album covers, and the more you see it the more it starts to act like an old Farside cartoons.

I want another, I want another, I want another. Right, right, it’s addictive, it’s addictive. What’s he gonna do next? It’s addictive! Each albums we made is an editions of 33, so they’re very limited! Additionally, I also hand painted 16 LPs making them extremely limited originals on vinyl records.  Come by, check out the album covers for yourself, bring a bathing suit, and enjoy the “Public Pool”!
