Café Royal Cultural Foundation Awards NYC Visual Artists With Grants

Visual artists based in New York City can apply for a Visual Grant of up to $10,000 from Café Royal Cultural Foundation to fund an exhibition or project.

Artists working in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and photography, are eligible for these grants. Applicants must currently reside in one of NYC’s five boroughs and must have lived there for a minimum of one year. Recipients will be determined by the foundation’s executive committee on the basis of artistic excellence, accomplishment to date, and the promise of future achievements in their medium.

Review Procedures
Funding decisions will be made by the Café Royal Cultural Foundation Selection and Executive Committees. The following criteria will be applied in evaluating grant proposals:

  • Excellence in executing the art
  • Quality of the finished work
  • Innovation or Original Quality of the work
  • Importance/Cultural Relevance of the project
  • Promise of future achievements in the visual arts

Café Royal Cultural Foundation has awarded more than 70 New Yorkers with grants for music, visual arts, performance, and literature since 2019.

The deadline to submit an application for this cycle is November 15, 2021, at 9am (ET).
